Pancreas Working Group Session: Normothermic Regional Perfusion Across the Globe: Next-Gen Pancreas DCD

Concurrent

Learning Objectives

NRP is a new development in organ recovery. Experiences with pancreata recovered from DCD-NRP donors have been different across the globe in recent years. As NRP is new and continues to increase dramatically, surgeons have to become familiar with the NRP technique, its risks/benefits, and how to assess pancreata retrieved from NRP donors by a variety of surgeons. The take-home will be that there is no contraindication to use a DCD-NRP pancreas for transplant, but there are a few things to evaluate carefully.
